Hey, hope you’re doing good. A lot has happened allready in 2017 and we just getting started.. 🙂 In this blog article I will tell you more, thats why I called this one the “Saturday Roundup“..

Did you also noticed my new post last week? If not, then you can find it right here: New Reggae Instrumentals for January 2017

Shape of You – Ed Sheeran (Benn-i Dancehall Refix)

Last week I was listening Spotify and selected a random playlist with some new and trendy music (Check out the Benn-i Playlist on Spotify). While I was working on a website of a client, the new song “Shape of You” by (fellow Ginger) Ed Sheeran passed by. I was surprised about the simplicity of the song and the dancehall and tropical house elements. So immediately I wanted to remix this song.

I came up with a dancehall, reggaeton basic beat which was produced at 100bpm in Studio One. To be honest it didn’t took me that long, I spend most time on the side chaining and compression.

I used the original song of Ed Sheeran as basics for the mix in Virtual DJ Pro, this is my #1 tool for mixing. So I turned down the low frequency a bit and synchronized the original beat to 100bpm. And the results are amazing.. 🙂

Last week I felt really proud receiving some likes from the original Buju Banton, Raging Fyah, House of Shem and Mr. Edley Shine (from Born Jamericans). Its so cool, cos im a big fan of those artists (since i was 12 years old).

New Logo Video Reveal for Benn-i

I also have another great thing to share with you all. Last week I was working on a brand new video who reveals my logo in gold. Its also part of my YouTube rebranding strategy, as I will continue to upload more YouTube video’s soon on the official YouTube channel of Benn-i Productions.

I made everything myself with Adobe After Effects, based on a premium template from Themeforest. The effects are also mixed with Virtual DJ and I combined multiple effect sounds into 1 sound that fits perfect to my logo. See for yourself:

The description for my channel was also updated:
