What’s going on with reggae, dancehall, beats, riddims, websites and all that stuff?

Well to be honest, there have been so many great things in 2016 its almost difficult to tell you everything is this article.

Did you also hear about the Grammy nominations for 2017? In the reggae section you see some great nominees;

  • Sly and Robbie (Reggae for Her);
  • J. Boog (Rose Petals)
  • Ziggy Marley (Ziggy Marley)
  • Raging Fyah (Everlasting)
  • Rebelution (Falling into Place)
  • Soja (live in Virginia)

Can’t wait. Last year, Morgan Heritage accepted the Grammy for best reggae album at the 58th annual grammy awards premiere on Feb 15 in Los Angeles.

Personally I think reggae is making a major movement lately, also the influences with modern dancehall. It seems like more and more dj’s are adopting the raw ragga voices and sounds. Here in Holland you have guys like Freddy Moreira or KD Soundsystem who play awesome sounds worldwide.

Let me start with all the collabs I did in 2016.

Tjatjie – My Life EP

Tjatjie Premiere on ReggaevilleI was responsible for 5! tracks on the EP of Tjatjie (from Suriname) called “My Life”. The EP has been featured on some major reggae platforms like and Reggaeville. Tjatjie is an upcoming artist based in Suriname and we met this year and we immediately created some awesome songs together. Tjatjie reminds me of a combination of Jah Cure and Barrington Levy (which has the same birthday as me, 30th of april!). 2 of my personal favorites. Tjatjie his first official reggae song was “Kon Go” and he also worked a longside Chevaughn (Jamaica) and Joggo (Holland).

You can listen to the songs here on spotify:

Benn-i Productions produced the following songs;

Na Na Riddim and Remixes!

Na na Riddim by Benn-iIm sure you are familiar with songs like Police from Anthony B or 18 and Ova by Cocoa Tea? Or do you know Mr Shabba Ranks (Mr Loverman)? Some of my personal favorites and I still listen to their music often. This year I went to a reggae concert in Holland called “Reggae Fever”, where Anthony B performed next to other stars like Protoje and Chris Martin. When Anthony B played Police, the crowd went wild. I used this as inspiration for the Na Na Riddim. Its a combination of tropical sounds with some reggae influences, reggaeton and moombahton sounds and more. Check it out!

You can listen to the Na Na Riddim on my official soundcloud Channel:

If you want to try out something of your own on the Na Na Riddim, you can download/lease it here right away. Nice little fact is that at the moment im trying to work something out with the one and only Nicky Jam on the Na Na Riddim, he heard the beat and was just as excited as me.. I’ll keep you posted if there is any progress.

Im also working on a new song together with Mr. Memoir , I know him from around here in Groningen and we met 2 years ago. So finally we can bring you some new stuff in 2017, we recorded an awesome dancehall song on the Sum Ting Else Riddim. Which can be downloaded/leased here:

I purchased a brand new domain called “”, it has the new .shop extension and Im really happy to have claimed this domain for my beats. Gives me some new opportunities to collab even more with other producers, artists, selectah’s and more. I also have a premium account now with Beatstars, they have a major marketplace for beats. Although the focus over there is mainly hiphop, rap and trap. But I will have to be patient and see how this journey will turn out. SO when you go to you will see my account at Beatstars. Check it out!

Stay tuned the coming weeks, I got so much more stuff in store.. 🙂

Here is the newest riddim! Broken Toys Riddim

More beats are coming up, I got like 5 or 6 new ones. But will keep you posted, thanks for reading and being a member of the Benn-i community.

Really appreciated.

For now enjoy the holidays with your loved ones and hope you have an awesome new year!

Talk soon, one love!  🎶❤
